Migrate from Drupal to WordPress?
As an avid fan of Drupal, their community, and someone who promotes the CMS at every given opportunity, I'm considering doing the unthinkable...moving to WordPress. I currently run several sites from the same Drupal 6.x codebase, and while the more involved sites will still run Drupal, I want something a little lighter weight for the blogs I run.
Ok, so now for the real reason. After the birth of my son Brayden (www.BraydenDorning.com), I created a website for him using Drupal. Since my wife is the one who primarily manages his site, I've had to show her ropes of what to do and how to do it...but it's just turning out to be too much. She doesn't need or want the same control of content that I do.
Another motivating factor is the amount of requests I've been receiving to do WordPress sites. While I'm comfortable with it on a personal level, I'm not ready to use it as a platform to develop sites for others. By using WordPress for mine and my son's personal blog, it will allow me to play with the codebase more. Which in turn, leads to me being able to accept some of these WordPress opportunities I've been offered.
Now the real question...have any of you migrated from a Drupal 6.x install to WordPress 2.7? Any tools or best practices you can offer, are as usual, greatly appreciated.
