Ken Griffey Jr. traded to Chicago White Sox

Well folks, Ken Griffey Jr. has been traded to the Chicago White Sox. While the trade is not yet official, the Reds made the deal this morning. Since Jr. has 10 years in the Major Leagues and 5 years with the same team, he has the option to veto the trade. With all the recent back and forth between him and Reds broadcaster Jeff Brantley, he may just head on out to Chi-town.

Griffey Jr. is hitting .245 this season with 15 home runs and 53 RBIs. On Wednesday night, he hit home run 608 against the Astros, placing him 1 home run shy of Sammy Sosa for 5th all-time.

Bengals-USC: match made in football heaven, again

Folks, the 2008 NFL Draft is less than 24 hours away. While I'm pumped up and anticipating who the Cincinnati Bengals might take, I'm also concerned they're going to blow it! Can anyone say Ki-Jana Carter, "Big Daddy" Dan Wilkinson, Akili Smith, David Klingler? Granted the list goes on, but I don't feel like spending the next 24 hours complaining about our previous busted draft picks. This year I'm trying to be more optimistic; but considering David Pollack has retired, Chris Henry has been cut, and Chad "mini TO" Johnson is being a crybaby, I'm not sure why.

Bracket Buster...and the state of the game

Ok...so the NCAA tournament is all but dead to me (not really, I'm just disgruntled). Kentucky battled and battled but just couldn't get it done. Not much more I can say about that. Joe Crawford played his heart it, but to no avail. Props to Marquette for showing up and doing what they had to do and getting the victory. This, however, is where the props end.

As many of you know, Xavier ended up winning after trailing for much of the game. But the intriguing thing here is the box scores. Could someone please explain to me how Xavier went to the free throw line 33 times and Georgia only 5? Yes, that is correct...33 attempts to 5.

Shall we dance?

Well it's here. We are literally 38 minutes from the first tip of the 2008 NCAA Tournament, as I'm typing these words. Make that 37. Living in Northern Kentucky and working in Cincinnati, OH, I am currently having to hear all these Xavier (X) fans going on and on about how "great" they are. There is no denying they have had one of their best years ever but all the "Johnny-Come-Lately's" are all in my ear about how great X is and how they would roll Kentucky (UK).
